Diese Seite wird auf Englisch angezeigt, und der englische Text ist maßgeblich. Wenn etwas unklar ist, schreib uns, und wir erklären es dir in deiner Sprache.

These are the terms for using Carry Echo at carryecho.com. We have kept them short and in plain words. By creating an account or sending a letter, you agree to them.

What Carry Echo does

Carry Echo lets you write a letter now, with words, photos, video and recordings of your voice, and have it delivered by email on a day you choose, up to sixty years ahead.

Your account

You sign in with your email address or your Google account. You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it.

Keep your email account safe. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.

Your letters are yours

You own everything you write and upload. You give us only the permission we need to store it, keep it safe, and deliver it to the people you address it to, on the day you choose.

We never publish your letters, and we never use them for advertising.

What you can’t send

  • Anything that is against the law.
  • Letters meant to harass, threaten or frighten someone.
  • Photos, video or audio you don’t have the right to share.
  • Spam, malware, or letters to strangers who never asked for them.

If a letter breaks these rules, we may refuse to deliver it or remove it. We may also close the account that sent it.

Delivery

We deliver each letter on the day and in the part of the day you choose, in the time zone you picked. We do all we reasonably can to make sure it arrives.

Email is partly outside our control. An address can stop working over the years, and a message can end up in spam. Please keep your recipients’ addresses up to date.

Once a letter is delivered, it cannot be unsent.

Plans and payment

Some parts of Carry Echo may need a paid plan. Paid plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions.

Our payment partner, Dodo Payments, sells the plans as merchant of record and handles the charge, sales tax or VAT, and your receipts. “How payments work” in our Privacy Policy explains what is shared along the way.

A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.

If you think we charged you by mistake, write to support@carryecho.com and we will put it right.

If you cancel your subscription

Cancelling stops future payments. It does not cancel your letters.

Every letter that already has a delivery day stays sealed with us and is delivered on that day, whether that is next week or years from now. You do not have to keep paying for your letters to arrive. We will look after them either way.

If you would rather your letters were not delivered, or you want us to remove everything we hold about you, write to support@carryecho.com. See the next section.

Deleting everything

You can ask us at any time to delete all of your information, whether or not you have a plan. Email support@carryecho.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete everything. This covers:

  • your account and profile
  • every letter, whether sent, scheduled or still a draft
  • every photo, video, voice recording and sticker in those letters
  • the names and email addresses of the people you wrote to
  • the emails we keep about your letters

Before we remove anything, we will check that the request really comes from you. We finish within 30 days and email you when it is done.

Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone. Letters that have not arrived will never be delivered. Delivered letters stop opening online. We cannot take back an email that has already reached someone’s inbox.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Carry Echo grows. If a change matters, we will email you before it takes effect. If you keep using Carry Echo after that, you accept the new terms.

One promise stays fixed for every letter already scheduled: cancelling a plan will not stop its delivery.

The legal part

We provide Carry Echo as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for a delivery that fails for reasons outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
